    "Remy considers herself a contemporary painter working in the realist tradition, inspired by old masters and American Impressionists. Her studio is full of a cozy blend of sofas, Persian rugs, easels, paints, and props such as dried fruits and copper pots for her still-life work. In her nearby kitchen she cooks a homemade brew of rabbitskin glue that she applies as a primer to her hand-stretched and sized linen canvases. The recipe for the primer is but one element in a preservation process that Remy regularly employs, painstaking methods reputed to date back to the old masters, she says..."
